Labiaplasty

What is Labiaplasty?

One of the worst things for any woman is to feel uncomfortable in her body. This can have a serious knock-on effect to confidence. When this area contains something as intimate as the appearance of their labia, it can easily cause daily frustration.

An impact on self-confidence isn’t the only area, which leads to frustration. Sex drive and discomfort when performing some activities have a major impact on a woman’s life when she can’t perform them as she wishes.

Labiaplasty can help resolve these issues by reducing the size of the labia to something that can be smaller and thinner resulting in a more comfortable size, shape and appearance.

Before Labiaplasty

Women who seek the assistance of Dr. Z to resolve these issues need to be open with him in their initial consultation, no matter how intimate the details may appear. He needs to understand fully the reasons for wanting this procedure. If it is something as simple as itching, or discomfort when riding a bike or it causes problems during intercourse, this information needs relating to him.

During this consultation, there will be an examination of the labia, and a thorough check on the patient’s current or past medical history. Before any patient becomes a candidate for surgery, they will need to be sure they are not smoking, using recreational drugs, or on any medications or supplements that may cause complications.

Dr. Zuriarrain will explain the procedure in detail and after a long discussion; both the patient and he will arrive at the final aesthetic goals for the newly sized labia.

What Happens Following Labiaplasty?

This procedure will, be over in no time, yet there is still the chance of some discomfort. Aside from painkillers that Dr. Zuriarrain can prescribe, he will also explain how to use an ice pack to ease pain and reduce any swelling.

These packs need to be sandwiched between underwear and an elastic garment to hold them in place. During application, they need using in rotations of twenty minutes on and twenty minutes off to prevent numbing of the genitalia.

Laying down with the buttocks raised can also ease swelling.  The good news for patients of Dr. Zuriarrain is there are no signs of surgery once healing is complete. Intercourse and using tampons can commence after around six weeks once most of the swelling subsides.

Across the board, many women who undergo this procedure with Dr. Zuriarrain have over a 90% satisfaction rate of the results.

What happens in a Labiaplasty Procedure?

Also known as, vaginal rejuvenation, a labiaplasty procedure aims to resolve all her issues regarding discomfort. To achieve this, there will be a reduction in the size of the labia minora so it will no longer reach below the labia majora.

In some cases, one is longer than the other is, so this procedure corrects this asymmetry. Nevertheless, the more common procedure is to reduce both in length.

This procedure will be under local anesthesia, and is a quick operation. It can be completed in around an hour.

Incisions are made where there is to be excess tissue removal. This tissue removal also helps with evening out the edges of the labia minora. Once the surgeon finishes trimming the labia, sutures close the incisions, and these will dissolve by themselves over the following weeks.
